Full-day, interactive workshops
Full-day, interactive workshops are held across the state to help teachers support students in participating in science and engineering research competitions. Participants also earn continuing education credits.
Webinars
Periodic live webinars and office hours will be held throughout the year on selected topics. These are promoted on our social media accounts” FaceBook. X (formerly Twitter), and Instagram. All accounts are @ncsciencefair
These professional development opportunities focus on the tools and techniques to assist teachers in inspiring students to conduct independent research, supporting scientific inquiry, and engineering design.
If you are interested in learning how to assist students in topic selection, time management, and presentation of science and engineering research, whether you are new to science fairs or have been involved for years, this workshop is for you!
Topics include:
- Methods that help foster and guide inquiry-based science and engineering research in the classroom.
- How to initiate, manage, and evaluate student science and engineering research projects.
- Out-of-school opportunities for students to engage in and present their research.
These professional development activities are done in collaboration with our partners of the NC Collaborative for Advancing Student-Led Research.
