NC Science Fair Foundation's 2022 Competition Will be Hosted Virtually
The NC Science Fair Foundation (NCSFF), proud sponsor of the NC Science and Engineering Fair, is pleased to announce that virtual competitions will be held in all 9 Regions and Statewide in the Spring of 2022. We remain committed to providing equitable access to opportunities and will host all competitions in a virtual environment in order to ensure that health and safety concerns are not barriers to participation.
To qualify for the state level fair, you must first compete and win in a North Carolina Regional Science & Engineering Fair. To prepare, make sure you
- review the 2022 Frequently Asked Questions to learn how the fair will be different this year.
- read over the rules
- decide if you will do a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics project
- complete the proper forms BEFORE you start your project
- review all the other resources provided for students
State Fair Dates
Registration Deadlines are 10 days after each qualifying regional fair, regardless of division. Details will be provided by the qualifying regional fair upon promotion to the state science and engineering fair.
- March 25 - Elementary Division
- March 26 - Senior & Junior Division
Award ceremonies for each division will be the afternoon following the competition.
Only students who have been nominated by one of the nine regional science and engineering fairs in North Carolina can participate in the state level North Carolina Science and Engineering Fair! Those students much visit STEM Wizard to complete their registration and pay the $25 registration fee (includes a T-shirt).

The NC Science Fair Foundation will contact the guardian based on the information provided in this form in order to verify the financial need and to discuss the availability of funds.
